Privacy Policy

Effective October 2, 2026

Easy Twin (“the app”) is made by Churchory LLC (“we”, “us”). It is designed for parents and guardians who want extra practice material for their children. This policy explains what information the app handles, where it goes, and the choices you have. We wrote it to be read, not skimmed, because the app processes photos of a child's schoolwork and you deserve to know exactly what happens to them.

In short: scanned pages are sent to Google's Gemini service to read the questions and write new ones. Page images are never stored on our servers unless you choose to attach them to a problem report. Generated worksheets, practice results, and your credit balance are backed up to an anonymous account (no name or email) so they survive reinstalling the app. We do not run ads, sell data, or track you across other apps or websites.

1. Information the app handles

Photos of worksheets

When you scan a page with the camera or import one from your photo library, the app creates a compressed copy of the image. The image is used for one purpose: generating a practice worksheet. Worksheets sometimes contain a child's name, a teacher's name, a school name, or handwriting. The app does not read or extract those details for any purpose other than producing the practice sheet, and the generation prompt instructs the model to ignore handwriting and marks.

Generated content and quiz results

The practice questions, answer keys, and your child's practice results (answers, hints used, scores, daily streak, and badges) are stored on your device and backed up to your account in Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore), hosted in the United States. The account is created automatically and anonymously the first time the app runs: it has no name, email, or password, and only that installation can read its data. This lets the app restore your worksheets and progress after a reinstall. Page images are not included in the backup.

You can optionally link the account to your Apple ID with Sign in with Apple so the same worksheets, progress, and credits appear on your other iPhones and iPads. Apple then shares a stable identifier with us and, if you choose, your name and email address (which may be Apple's private relay address). We use these to identify your account and address you in the app. When you sign in you can opt in to occasional product emails (practice tips and updates); you can turn that off by replying to any email or contacting us, and we never send marketing email without that opt-in. Signing out returns the app to a device-only account.

Analytics, crash reports, and performance data. The app uses Google Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, and Performance Monitoring to understand which features are used (for example how many worksheets are scanned or practice sessions completed), to fix crashes, and to keep the app fast. This data is tied to your anonymous account identifier, not to your name, and it never includes the content of worksheets or your child's answers. We do not use the advertising identifier and do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.

First steps in the app. To learn where new parents get stuck before their first worksheet, the app also records when a few steps first happen (for example finishing the introduction, opening the camera, allowing or declining camera access, capturing a page, or getting a first worksheet) and a few counts (such as how often the scanner was closed without a page). These dates and counts are stored with your anonymous account in Cloud Firestore. They contain no images, questions, answers, or names.

Turning usage stats off. Settings → Privacy → Share anonymous usage stats is on by default. Turning it off stops Firebase Analytics events and the first-steps record above, and deletes the first-steps record already stored with your account. Crash reports stay on so we can keep the app working.

Worksheet ratings

After a worksheet is made, the app may ask how it turned out. If you tap thumbs up or thumbs down, we receive your rating, any reasons you pick, any note you type, and basic facts about that worksheet (subject, number of questions and pages, and whether it was your first). Ratings are stored with your anonymous account and are sent only when you tap, so they don't depend on the usage-stats setting. Please leave your child's name out of notes. Your scanned pages are never attached to a rating.

Apple Ads attribution. If you installed Easy Twin by tapping an Apple Ads result in the App Store, Apple tells the app which ad campaign and search keyword led to the install. Apple provides this through its privacy-preserving AdServices framework, which includes no device identifier or personal information. We store it with the anonymous analytics above, tied to your anonymous account identifier, only to measure which ads work. This is not tracking: it doesn't follow you to other apps or websites, and the app never asks for tracking permission.

To hand out the free welcome credits once per device, the app stores a random identifier in the device Keychain and records a one-way hash of it on our servers together with the account that claimed the credits. The identifier is not derived from your device's hardware and is not used for advertising or tracking.

You can delete your account and all of its data at any time from Settings → Account & backup → Delete account. This removes your worksheets, practice history, credit balance, and account record from our servers and from the device.

Optional child's first name

You can enter a first name in Settings so that word problems use it. It is stored on your device and, when you generate a worksheet, it is included in the request to Google so the questions can use the name. Leave it blank to keep names out of requests entirely.

Purchases and credits

Subscriptions and credit packs are handled by Apple through the App Store. We receive transaction identifiers and product identifiers from Apple to deliver credits and honor your subscription. We do not receive your payment card details or billing address. Your credit balance and purchase history are stored on your device and mirrored to your anonymous account so credits are not lost if you reinstall.

Information we do not collect

The app has no advertising SDK and does not use the advertising identifier. It does not access your contacts, location, microphone, or full photo library (the photo picker only shares the images you choose). We do not ask for a name, email, or password to use the app: the account it creates is anonymous, and linking an Apple ID is optional.

This website

Pages on easytwin.app count visits with Google Analytics, configured so that no cookies are written and nothing is stored in your browser. We record the page you viewed, the site that referred you, and whether you tapped the App Store badge or arrived through a friend's invite link. There is no cross-site advertising identity and no ad personalization: these settings are off. Because nothing is stored in your browser, we cannot tell whether you have visited before, and we do not try to. The ops dashboard at this domain loads no analytics at all. If your browser sends a "Do Not Track" signal, the site skips analytics entirely.

2. How Google Gemini is used

To turn a scan into a practice worksheet, the app sends the compressed page image, the optional child's name, and our generation instructions to Google's Gemini API over an encrypted connection. Google processes the request and returns the generated questions. This is the only third party that receives worksheet images.

Google's handling of API requests is governed by the Gemini API Terms and Google Privacy Policy. Under the paid tier of the Gemini API that we use, Google states that it does not use your prompts or responses to improve its products. We do not grant Google any other rights to the images.

We do not keep copies of images or generated content on our own servers, with one exception you control: problem reports (below). If we add server-side processing in the future (for example, to protect our API credentials), this policy will be updated before that change ships.

Problem reports

When a scan fails, the app records technical details about the failure in your anonymous account so we can find and fix the cause: the error, which step failed, how long it took, the number and pixel size of the pages, the app and iOS version, and the device model. These details contain no images, names, or text from the page.

On the failure screen you can also choose Send to support. A report can include a note you write and, only if you turn on Include the scanned pages, a reduced-size copy of the pages from that scan. Attached pages are seen only by the Easy Twin team, used only to diagnose the problem, and deleted once we've reviewed the report, within 30 days. If a page shows a name, you can cover or crop it before scanning, or send the report without pages.

3. Children's privacy

Easy Twin is intended for use by parents and guardians. It is not directed at children under 13, does not ask children for personal information, and does not create profiles of children. The interactive practice mode can be handed to a child to play. What it records (answers, hints used, scores, streaks, and badges) is stored under the parent's anonymous account and is visible only to whoever holds the phone. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information directly, contact us and we will delete it.

5. Your choices and rights

  • Delete a worksheet: swipe left on it in the library. This removes the scan images, questions, and quiz history for that worksheet.
  • Delete everything: use Settings → Account & backup → Delete account to remove your data on the device and on our servers. Purchases remain with Apple and can be restored on reinstall.
  • Turn off usage stats: Settings → Privacy → Share anonymous usage stats.
  • Keep names out of requests: leave the child's name blank in Settings.
  • Manage or cancel a subscription: iPhone Settings › Apple Account › Subscriptions.
  • Access or portability: the printable PDF and share sheet let you export any worksheet at any time.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of personal information, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. Most requests are fulfilled by the on-device controls above; to delete the backup held under your anonymous account, contact us using the details below and include the device you used.

6. Security

All network traffic uses HTTPS. Any credentials the app stores are kept in the iOS Keychain. Worksheet images are stored in the app's sandboxed container, protected by your device passcode and Apple's data-protection encryption.

7. Changes to this policy

If we change how the app handles data, we will update this page, change the effective date above, and, for material changes, note it in the app's release notes before the change takes effect.
